Sgt. Chris Beeck, stationed at Columbus, Ohio, came last week to spend a furlough at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beeck of Portland township.

Christian August “Chris” Beeck was born June 7, 1917 to Christian Heinrich and Meta Mangelsen Beeck. He died July 21, 1953 and is buried in Saint Johns Lutheran Church Cemetery, Ruble, IA.
