Private Ray J. Baker of Sioux City has been promoted to the rank of Sergeant at the air corps army base at Salt Lake City, Utah.

S. Sgt. Ray J. Baker, 1010 34th Street, has been honorably discharged from the Army Air Forces at the Sioux City Air Base. He is a veteran of many months active duty in the European and Pacific Theater as supply clerk and was released in accordance with the army’s point system. Prior to his entry into the service he was employed by the White Palace system here. He was graduated from the Centerville High School. He holds the E.T.O. campaign ribbon with one battle star, the Pacific ribbon with two battle stars and the good conduct medal. His wife resides at 1010 34th Street.
