Harold Wayne Bain was born July 3, 1924 to Leonard H. and Edna Pearl Nondyke Bain. He died Jan. 24, 1945 and is buried in Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and has a cenotaph at Clarinda Cemetery, Clarinda, IA.
Pvt. Bain served in World War II with the U.S. Army Co. F, 161st Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division and was KIA on San Manuel, Luzon, Philippine Islands. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and Purple Heart.
