Harold Francis 'Hallie Frank' Ashmore was born Apr. 5, 1893 to Mikel and Catherine Maloy Ashmore. He died Nov. 1, 1967 and is buried in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Corning, CA.

First Class Petty Officer Ashmore served with the U.S. Navy in World War I aboard the battleship USS Marblehead and in World War II in the European war theater.

His sons, James and John also served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

James Doyle Ashmore was born June 7, 1924. He died Feb. 11, 1984 and is buried in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Corning, CA. He served aboard the USS Stokes.

John Joseph Ashmore was born Oct. 24, 1925. He died June 18, 1982 and is buried in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Corning, CA.

Ashmore Services Held in California

Funeral services for Harold F. Ashmore, 74, San Pablo, Calif., former resident of the Williams community, were held Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Immaculate Conception church in Corning, Calif., with the Rev. Father Kyne officiating. Burial was in the Sunset Hill cemetery there.

Mr. Ashmore died Nov. 1 at the Veterans’ hospital in Martinez, Calif., where he had been a patient for two months.

Born at Fonda Iowa, April 5, 1893, he was married in 1922 to Florence Doyle at Williams. He served in World War I aboard the battleship, USS Marblehead, and also saw action in World War II in the European war theater. He had been retired for many years and was living at San Pablo.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, James and John, both living at Corning, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. James Hold of Vallejo, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. J. E. McCormick, Webster City.
