Donald Edward Akers was born Sept. 6, 1920 to Jeremiah and Vinelandis L. “Vinnie” Sheppard Akers. He died July 17, 1944 and is buried in Boulder Cemetery, Waubeek, IA.
Sgt. Akers served in World War II with the U.S. Army 359th Infantry, 90th Division and was KIA in France.
