Lt. Williamson Dies in India

Graduated Here in 1933
Lt. Earle H. “Suitcase” Williamson, 28-year-old Army Air corps pilot, died in India on December 22 according to word received here by friends. There have been no further particulars released. Lt. Williamson is the son of Mrs. Minnie Williamson and grandson of G. W. Sedam, who left here only a few months ago to enter defense work in Portland, Ore.
He was born October 25, 1915, to Harry and Minnie Sedam Williamson. He attended the Mapleton schools and graduated from high school in 1933. He enlisted in the Navy and served 4 years in the Naval reserve.
On January 2, 1937, he was married to Miss Bonnie Hull of Amarillo, Texas, at Salinas, Cal. At that time he was serving as a U. S. Naval radio operator in Long Beach, Cal. They had been making their home in California before he took up aviation training nearly a year ago, previous to his being commissioned a second lieutenant and receiving his wings. On February 16, 1943, he received his wings at Randolph Field, Texas.
He spent a short leave here with his mother and other relatives and friends soon after his graduation at Randolph Field. He has been stationed overseas in India for the last several months.
He is survived by his widow; his mother in Portland, two brothers, Robert of California and Paul, with his mother in Portland, and one sister, Miss Lucille Williamson of Washington D.C. and his grandfather. His father preceded him in death in January 1941.

Earle Harry Williamson was born Oct. 25, 1915 to Harry E. and Minnie G. Titus Williamson. He died Dec. 22, 1943 and is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Mapleton, IA.
