Cpl. Wallace N. Vanderwal, whose wife and daughter live with her mother at 620 Virginia street, has been confined to an Army hospital for the last six weeks. Cpl. Vanderwal served in the Pacific area for 26 months. His family formerly lived at LeMars, Ia.

Wallace Nicholas Vanderwal was born July 5, 1919 to Nicholas John “Nick” and Mary Margaret “Mae” Bentz Vanderwal. He died Oct. 4, 1985 and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.
