Ensign Al Van Hazel is spending an eight-day leave in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Van Hazel, 1817 W. Fourth street. A line officer on an amphibious landing craft, he is enroute from Rye, N.C., to San Francisco for overseas assignment.
His brother, George Van Hazel, who is stationed at North Camp Hood, Tex., recently was promoted from second to first lieutenant.
