Three Sioux Cityans Commissioned
Robert G. Haley, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Haley, rural route,; Richard J. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carrol N. Smith, 2221 Jackson Street, and Homer A. Dunn, son of Rev. and Mrs. George W. Dunn, 1915 Nebraska Street, have successfully completed the army air forces advanced flying school training at Williams field, Chandler, Ariz. and have been commissioned second lieutenants in the army air corps.
Lieut. Haley is a former student of Central High School and the University of South Dakota; Lieut. Smith is a former student of Morningside College and Oshkosh State Teachers college and Lieut. Dunn is a former student of Central High School and Morningside College.

IN UNIFORM
Lt. Richard Smith recently returned to the States from a year of duty in Germany and is spending a 45-day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carrol Smith, 2221 Jackson street. Lt. Smith, on completion of his leave, will report to Greensboro, N.C.

Richard John Smith was born Sept. 22, 1923 to Carrol Norton and Doris Evelyn Utter Smith. He died Apr. 6, 1973 and is buried in Logan Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.
