MEMORIAL MASS FOR PFC. RICHARD SMALL WILL BE THURSDAY
A memorial mass for Pfc. Richard L. Small will be held in St. Boniface Catholic church at 8 o’clock Thursday morning.
Pfc. Small, who was killed in action in France on December 7, according to a report to the parents from the War Department, entered the service on March 28, 1944, and went overseas on October 1. He was a graduate of Central high school with the mid-year class in 1944.
Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Small; two sisters, Mrs. Rudy LaFerrier, Elk Point, S.D., and Miss Mary Margaret Small, Sioux City; and one brother, Pvt. John W. Small, stationed at Camp Beal, Cal.

Pvt. John W. Small, whose wife resides at 2913 Isabella street, was among the new arrivals at the Mayo general hospital at Galesburg, Ill., this week, according to announcement received here. He is undergoing treatment after returning from the Pacific theater of operations. Pvt. Small, who formerly was attached to the ordinance division, entered the service January 25, 1944, and went overseas the following February 5. He was returned to the States last September. He was awarded the good conduct medal and wears the Southwest Pacific theater ribbon with two battle stars.
