DONALD SHEARON—son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Shearon, has seen action with the Marines in the southwest Pacific. He writes that he misses winter weather. Some time ago he wrote home for a trench knife, and Clyde Marshall sent him a World War I trench knife, which he acknowledged with thanks. He said other Marines had offered him $25 for it, but he declined to sell, saying he needed the knife himself.

SOLDIER NEWS.
Cpl. Donald Shearon and Mrs. Shearon arrived in LeMars Saturday for a visit in the home of the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Shearon. They will return on Thursday to San Diego where Cpl. Shearon is stationed.

Donald Joseph Shearon was born Dec. 23, 1921 to John H. and Vera Dominick Shearon. He died Jan. 7, 1977 and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.
