MEN AND WOMEN IN SERVICE
Donald W. (“Don”) Richardson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ora S. Richardson, 2415 S. Cedar street, and Richard E. Thorpe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy C. Thorpe, 1917 W. Third street, have qualified with .30-caliber machine guns at Camp Roberts, California. They were awarded badges for accuracy.

Aviation Cadet Donald Richardson has been transferred from Camp Roberts, California, to Buckley field, Colorado. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. O.S. Richardson, 2415 Cedar Street.

IN UNIFORM
Donald W. Richardson, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Richardson, 2415 S. Cedar street, arrived at New York Friday en route home for discharge after having served 34 months with the Rainbow infantry division. Richardson has four battle stars and a silver star for gallantry in action. The citation reads that on January 12, 1945, near Rittershoffen, France, Technician Richardson and another soldier proceeded through heavy artillery and machine gun fire to find a break in the wire to the second battalion and, after locating the break, repaired it under intense enemy small arms fire.
