Meredith Ray, technician fifth grade, son of Mrs. Hazel Ray, 709 W. Eighth street, is home on furlough after 18 months service in India, and is visiting with his wife at 1604 Eleventh street; his mother and sisters, Mrs. Clayton Johnson and Misses Margaret and Elizabeth Ray.

SIOUX CITYAN WOUNDED IN BURMA
CONVALESCING HERE
Cpl. Meredith Ray has returned to the United States after two years in the China-Burma-India theater of operations and is spending a 21-day convalescent furlough with his mother, Mrs. Hazel Ray, 1604 Seventh street.
Cpl. Ray, a mechanic in the supply line of a quartermaster corps stationed in India, was wounded in the right leg November 12 in Burma by a Jap sniper. He was hospitalized in India until the first of the year when he was returned to this country and sent to Winter General hospital in Topeka, Kan. He will return there at the end of this furlough for further treatment.
He entered the army in August, 1942, and received his training at Camp Lee, Va., and at mechanic’s school at Stockton, Cal.
