MEN AND WOMEN IN SERVICE
Private First Class Gerald A. Parks, in the military police at Camp Crowder, Missouri, has returned after spending a furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Parks, 3412 Egbert street. Two brothers are about to enter the service. Cyril F., a naval aviation cadet, will leave soon for Mount Vernon, Ia., to begin his training and Howard, who has enlisted in the Army air corps, expects to leave soon.

Capt. Arthur L. McGilvra, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. McGilvra, 2401 Palmetto street, Cpl. Gerald A. Parks, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Parks, formerly of Sioux City, and Capt. John B. Ryan, son of Mrs. John J. Ryan, 3712 Jackson street, have received a brief orientation course at a United States strategic air force station in England. They soon will transfer to a permanent station from which America’s fighting planes cover the allied advance into Germany.
