LISTED MISSING
M. Sgt. Harold M. Kruck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Kruck, 1122 12th street, has been reported missing in action in Belgium since January 7, according to word received by his parents from the War Department.
Sgt. Kruck, who has been in service for three years, took his basic training at Fort Ord, Cal., and was then transferred to Fort Benning, Ga., where he trained as a paratrooper. He had been overseas since November 7, 1944.
Two brothers are also in service on duty in the South Pacific area: Ralph William, a petty officer first class; and Donald L., a pharmacist’s mate second class.

Paratrooper Formerly Was Reported as Missing in Action
M. Sgt. Harold M. Kruck, 27, formerly reported missing in action, has now been reported killed in action in Belgium on January 7, according to a telegram from the war department and received today by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Kruck, 1122 12th Street.
Sgt. Kruck was with the paratroopers and had been overseas since November 7, 1944. He had been in service for three years and took his basic training at Fort Ord, California and Fort Benning, Ga.
He was born on May 28, 1918, in Sioux Falls, S.D., where he lived until last year when his parents moved to Sioux City. He was graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls in 1936. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls.
Survivors include his parents, his widow, who is with her parents in Birmingham, Ala., and two brothers, both now stationed in the south Pacific area, Ralph, a petty officer first class and Donald, a pharmacist’s mate second class.
