Sgt. Simon J. Hughes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Simon P. Hughes, 712 Jones street, now is authorized to wear an additional battle star on his European-African-Middle east theater ribbon, signifying that he had a part in the Rome-Arno campaign since January 22, 1944.

Sgt. Simon J. Hughes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Simon P. Hughes, 712 Jones street, is now stationed at a 12th air force B-25 bomber base as an engineering clerk. He went overseas in November 1942, and participated in the Rome Arno campaign. Prior to going overseas, he trained at Columbia and Walterboro, S. C.
