—Award of the air medal with two oak leaf clusters to First Lt. Marvin L. Hassebroek, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hassebroek, Sheldon, has been announced by Maj. Gen. Howard C. Davidson, commanding general, 10th air force, Burma. A pilot for a combat cargo squadron of the 10th air force that operates against the Japs in the India-Burma theater, Lt. Hassebroek also holds the distinguished flying cross with one oak leaf cluster. He has been in the armed forces 30 months, having spent the last eight months in the Burma theater of operations, during which time he has amassed a total of 182 combat missions and 735 combat flying hours. Lt. Hassebroek attended Sheldon high school, where he participated in basketball.
