Col. David M. Fowler, an expert skier with a mountain infantry regiment, a son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Kelley of Jolly, Ia., formerly of Wilton, was seriously wounded in action in Italy Feb. 22, according to word received here by Miss Jennie Kelley. Col. Fowler’s son, Pvt. Paul Fowler, was killed in action in France Nov. 18, 1944. Mrs. Fowler, the former Esther Kelley, and daughter live at Denton, Tex.

David Marion Fowler was born Sept. 19, 1898 to David F. and Geneva Lewis Fowler. He died Oct. 14, 1981 in San Diego, CA.
Col. Fowler served with the U.S. Army in World War I and World War II.
