Mrs. J. S. Drexler has heard from her husband that he is now in France and likes it much better than in Italy. He landed in France August 15, just three days before his birthday. He hopes to be able to visit Paris. While in Italy he had an audience with the Pope at Rome and was all through St. Peters Cathedral. Jack wrote that had meant a great deal to him as he is a devout catholic.

John Sylvester “Jack” Drexler was born Aug. 18, 1901 to Jacob J. and Susanna Margaret “Susie” Michael Drexler. He died Nov. 16, 1979 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Milford, IA.
Sgt. Drexler served with the U.S. Army in World War I and World War II.
