IN UNIFORM
Pfc. Walter D. Dowd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Dowd, 319 W. Fourth street, was wounded in action on Luzon January 14. He has been in the Pacific area for 18 months, serving with an infantry division. Pfc. Dowd received his basic training at Camp Roberts, Cal. His wife Shirley resides at the home of his parents.

Walter Daniel Dowd was born Jan. 19, 1923 to Jesse and Emma Kuppstetter Dowd. He died Sept. 28, 1974 and is buried in Logan Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.
