Staff Sergeant Robert Bramble, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Bramble, 2725 Ross Street, has arrived in England. Word that their son, who is in the army air corps, has reached a foreign shore was received here by his parents.

SIOUX CITYAN AMONG 14 IOWANS AWARDED AIR MEDAL
Washington.—(AP)—Fourteen Iowans of the north African air force troop carrier command have received awards for “meritorious achievements over Sicily,” the War Department announced Tuesday.
Air medals were awarded to Lieut. Guy J. Hugunin jr, Spencer; Lieut. Reginald W. Kurtz, Terril; Technical Sergeant Robert G. Bramble, Sioux City.
Technical Sergeant Bramble, 22, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Bramble, 2725 Ross street.
The young man, a graduate of Central high school, enlisted in the air corps in California in October of 1940. He went overseas in July of 1942, and landed in England. In November of 1942, he went to Africa.

FROM the home of O. G. Bramble, 2715 Ross street, all of the children have gone to war.
The four sons of Mr. Bramble, whose wife died last December 18 (1943), now are widely separated, and serving in various branches of the United States forces.
Technical Sergeant Robert G. Bramble, 22, has been with the army air corps overseas since July, 1942, and received a citation for meritorious service during the Sicilian invasion. He joined the air corps after graduation from high school. He serves with the troop carriers.
Private Warren L. Bramble, the eldest son, 23, is in training at Camp McCoy, Wis.
Private Harold L. Bramble, 20, the only one of the sons who is married, is in training at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., and will be a member of the air corps solon. His wife is the former Lois Richter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Richter, 2715 Rebecca street. They have a son, Richard H., born July 4, last year, whom they have declared will be “a real live nephew of Uncle Sam, born on the Fourth of July.”
John C. Bramble, 18, is in training at Camp Fannin, Tex. He will be radioman as soon as he completes his training.
The father of the four soldiers is a veteran of the first world war. He served in the signal corps in 1918, in France.

Robert Bramble Is Following Example of Uncle, Father
Carrying out a family tradition, Technical Sergeant Robert G. Bramble, 22, a son of Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Bramble, 2725 Ross street, was one of 14 Iowans of the north African air force troop carrier command to receive awards for “meritorious achievements over Sicily.”
An uncle, Edwin D. Bramble, 520 Ninth street, was described by Mrs. Bramble as being the “most decorated Sioux Cityan” in the last world war. She said he earned a distinguished service cross, awarded by Gen. Pershing, and is the holder of a French citation. He is a member of the Order of the Purple Heart.
His son, Technical Sergeant Wayne S. Bramble, is stationed in north Africa with the air corps.
Robert’s father served in France in the first world war with the 88th division in the signal corps. Robert also has a brother, Warren, in the service on the east coast.
Also in service during the last war was another uncle, John H. Bramble, 926 Pierce street.

His Obituary:
Mr. Robert G. "Bob" Bramble was born on August 27, 1921 in Sioux City, Iowa. He is the son of the late Orlando and Doris Bramble. Robert left this world to be joined with his savior on the afternoon of May 12, 2015. He lived to be 93 years old. And, what a story he has left behind.
Robert G. “Bob” Bramble graduated from Central High School in Sioux City in June of 1940. In September of 1940 he enlisted in the US Army Air Corps. He spent 24 years in the United States Air Force as a flight engineer and retired a Senior Master Sergeant.
Robert served his country with honor and pride. He was a WWII veteran. His missions and achievements are too great to list here.
In the spring of 1951 while attending a Flight Engineering school at Chanute Field, Illinois he met his bride to be. Viola Allen and Robert G. Bramble were married on September 1, 1951. They celebrated over 63 years of marriage before he passed away.
Robert G. Bramble was a member of the Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church in Trinity, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Viola Bramble and his daughter Deborah Bramble-Clemons and son-in-law Danny R. Clemons. All reside in Yantis, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers; Johnnie Bramble and Warren Bramble of Montana and Harold Bramble of California.
Robert G. Bramble was a devoted husband and a loving father who lived his life with dignity and grace. He will be forever loved and missed. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Pm on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Dorcas Will Memorial Baptist Church 201 Robb Drive Trinity, Texas 75862, Bro. Leroy Brown officiating, interment will follow at Chita Cemetery in Sebastopol, Texas Burial:
