GERMAN PRISONER BACK WITH PARENTS
Sgt. Jim Berry, who was captured by the Germans at Casserine Pass in February, 1943, and has been in a prison camp ever since, arrived home Saturday morning to spend a furlough with his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Ed C. Berry, 2319 Avenue C.
A brother, Machinist’s Mate 3/c Kenny Berry, was killed in action while serving with the navy. Another brother, Pfc. Donald Berry, is stationed with the air corps at Tonopah, Nev.

James Edward Berry was born July 30, 1920 to Edwin Coit and Meta Cox Berry. He died Feb. 4, 1996 and is buried in Skyline Memorial Gardens, Portland, OR.
