Marvin Nelson Vinson was born Dec. 30, 1922 to Marvin Clarence and Norma Nelson Vinson. He died June 27, 1944 and is buried in Epinal American Cemetery, Dinoze, France.
Lt. Vinson served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 428th Fighter Squadron, 474th Fighter Group and was MIA/KIA on a bombing and strafing mission to Paris, France. His plane was shot down by enemy aircraft. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters.
