Arthur William Yoder was born Apr. 12, 1923 to Arthur William (Sr.) and Cecil Marie Cunningham Yoder. He died Sept. 11, 1943 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy.
Petty Officer Yoder served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Savannah (CL-42) and was MIA/FOD/KIA in the performance of his duties and in the service of his country. The Savannah was damaged in a bomb attack and 197 crewmen were lost in this attack. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
