Donald Earl Wortman was born Aug. 16, 1921 to Ernst A. and Verina Seeley Wortman. He died Jan. 1, 1943 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, North Africa American Cemetery, Tunis, Tunisia.

Petty Officer Wortman served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the SS Arthur Middleton and was MIA/FOD/KIA when that vessel exploded and sank off Oran, Algeria.
