Cecil Puffinbarger was born Sept. 24, 1924 to Ray Frederick and Grace Hughes Puffinbarger. He died June 8, 1945 and is buried in Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and has a cenotaph in Iowaville Cemetery, Selma, IA.

Pvt. Puffinbarger served in World War II with the U.S. Army 34th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division and died on Mindanao, Philippine Islands while serving his country. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.
