Wendell Phillip Lockard was born Dec. 9, 1924 to Fred Allen and Vera M. Gardner Lockard. He died Oct. 21, 2006.

Wendell served with the U.S. Navy in World War II, stationed on a PT boat.

Orville George Lockery was born June 19, 1924. His foster parents were Carl and Gladys Schrader Moyer. He died Mar. 13, 1945 and is buried in Keokuk National Cemetery, Keokuk, IA. He was initially buried in the 5th Marine Division Cemetery, Iwo Jima.

Pvt. Lockery served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps and was assigned as Automatic Rifleman (MOS746) in E Company, 2nd Battalion, 26th Marines, 5th Marine Division. He participated in combat operations on Iwo Jima until he was KIA.
