Daniel Ryan “Doc” Seidell was born Sept. 16, 1920 to Herbert A. and Edna Marie Ryan Seidell. He died Mar. 22, 1943/FOD Mar. 23, 1944 and has a cenotaph in Saint Ambrose Cemetery, Des Moines, IA. He is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Ens. Seidell served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Amberjack (SS-219) and was lost at sea (probably sunk by depth charge attack). He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Paul served in World War II with the U.S. Army as a Special Forces Ranger and was discharged as a 1st Lt. in the infantry. His service included time as an instructor in the South Pacific theatre, primarily in the Philippine Islands.
