James Mitchel Wagaman was born Jan. 5, 1907 to Harvey Luther and Sarah Ann Cullum Wagaman. He died Aug. 3, 1944 and is buried in Villisca Cemetery, Villisca, IA.

Pvt. Wagaman served in World War II with the U.S. Army and died as the result of an automobile accident while home on furlough.

Kenneth Byron “Byron” Wenstrand was born Sept. 25, 1914 to Oscar Olaf and Phoebe Otella Liljedahl Wenstrand. He died Sept. 24, 1922 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, IA. Petty Officer Wenstrand served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Russell Leroy Williams was born July 28, 1922 to John T. and Maude Crockett Williams. He died Sept. 24, 1947.

Russell served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Herbert Austin Willoughby was born Aug. 23, 1923 to Ben L. and Ada T. Willoughby. He died Aug. 11, 2016 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

Cpl. Willoughby served with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II.

Russell Forest Wiseman was born Oct. 3, 1921 to Tobe Russell and Mabel Beatrice Hayes Wiseman. He died Feb. 17, 1943 and has a cenotaph in Peden Chapel Cemetery, Clark Township, Chariton County, MO and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, North Africa American Cemetery, Tunis, Tunisia.

Sgt. Wiseman served in World War II with the U.S. Army Company M, 168th Regiment and was MIA/KIA in the North African area in the service of his country and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

Darrell Eugene Wolfe was born Dec. 21, 1918 to Alfred Lafayette and Eunice Audrey Perry Wolfe. He died July 28, 2000 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

Warrant Officer JG Wolfe served in World War II with the U.S. Army 168th Infantry, 34th Division and became a German POW. He was awarded the Bronze Star.

Hartley Thomas Wolfe was born July 18, 1923 to Alfred Lafayette and Eunice Audrey Perry Wolfe. He died Apr. 18, 2000 and is buried in Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO.

Cpl. Wolfe served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps Airways Communications Service.

Duane Lavern Woods was born Mar. 15, 1924 to Ernest and Dora Jones Woods. He died Mar. 11, 1945 and is buried in Gomer Cemetery, Montgomery County, IA. He was initially buried in USAF Cemetery Guam #2 Agat Guam and returned to the U.S. in 1948.

Pvt. Woods served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division and participated in combat operations on Iwo Jima until wounded in action. He was evacuated to U.S. Naval Hospital in Guam where he died from his wounds.
