Leon Paul Arickx was born Dec. 28, 1918 to Charles and Erma Arickx. He died Dec. 7, 1941 and is buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage, IA and memorialized at the Courts of the Missing at the Punchbowl, National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii.*
Petty Officer Arickx served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and was MIA/KIA as a crew member of the USS Oklahoma (BB-37) in the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
*In 2015, DPAA disinterred remains from the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. A rosette will be placed next to his name to indicate he has been accounted for.

Laurel Merlyn “Merlyn” Armstrong was born Apr. 7, 1923 to Jesse and Pearl Armstrong. He died Jan. 3, 2008 and is buried in Osage Cemetery, Osage, IA.
Merlyn served with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II.
