James Richard VanAntwerp was born Oct. 6, 1920 to Mark C. and Frances VanAntwerp. He died Apr. 26, 1945 and is buried in Murdoch-Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, IA.
Pvt. VanAntwerp served in World War II with the U.S. Army 359th Infantry, was wounded in action and reassigned to a military police company guarding German prisoners. He died in Germany and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Don Douglas VanMeter was born May 17, 1915 to Robert L. and Esther VanMeter. He died Aug. 10, 1943 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Petty Officer VanMeter served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Quincy (CA-39) and was MIA/FOD/KIA aboard that ship when that vessel was sunk as a result of enemy action during the Battle of Savo Island. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Pvt. Vig served in World War II with the U.S. Army 126th Infantry, 32nd Division and was KIA in New Guinea in the service of his country.
