Eldon Anthony Slager was born Jan. 23, 1921 to John F. and Hazel Margaret Figg Slager. He died Apr. 8, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands. He has a cenotaph in Oak Hill Cemetery, Williamsburg, IA.
Sgt. Slager served in World War II as a Right Waist Gunner with the 8th Air Force, 787th Bomber Squadron, 466th Bomber Group, Heavy. He was MIA/KIA on a bombing mission on B-24 #42-29365.

He died Mar 7, 1945 and is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii. He was initially buried in the 3rd Marine Division Cemetery on Iwo Jim and returned for permanent burial in 1949.

Oswald Willie Solbrig was born June 2, 1925 to Willie and Louise Solbrig. He died Apr. 7, 1945 and is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii. He was initially buried in USAF Cemetery Guam #2 Agat and returned to the U.S. in 1949.
Pvt. Solbrig served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 1st Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division and was wounded in combat operations on Okinawa. He was evacuated to the USS Solace (AH-5) where he died of his wounds.
