Paul E. Ebert was born Sept. 26, 1917 to Albert W. and Ella Margaret Haskell Ebert. He died July 10, 1945 and is buried in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, IA.
Sgt. Ebert served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps Pathfinder Group and died while in the service of his country.

Leroy Axel Engstrom was born Feb. 21, 1921 to Axel G. and Evelyn Iowa Helenthal Engstrom. He died June 10, 1943 (at sea) and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, East Coast Memorial, Manhattan, NY and has a cenotaph at Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, IA.
Petty Officer Engstrom served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and was aboard the ship Esso Gettysburg which was hit and sunk by two torpedoes from U-66, southeast of Savannah, Georgia. He was MIA/FOD/KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.
