Francis Merlin Cox was born Feb. 25, 1919 to Horace LeRoy and Grace Arvilla Beavers Cox. He died Oct. 30, 1941 and is buried in Leon Cemetery, Leon, IA.
2nd Lt. Cox served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 56th Pursuit Squadron and died in an aircraft accident off Dungeness Point, WA.

Edwin O’Neil Craig was born in 1915 to Percy Edward and Minnie Ethel Bennett Craig. He died July 7, 1944 and was buried in Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France and has a cenotaph in IOOF Cemetery, Davis City, IA.
Sgt. Craig served in World War II with the U.S. Army 357th Infantry Regiment, 90th Infantry Division and was KIA in France. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
