John Nolen “Nolen" Humphreys was born Nov. 16, 1921 to Harvey Hillis and Ollie Noel Humphreys. He died Aug. 2, 1944 and is buried in Bloomfield IOOF Cemetery, Bloomfield, IA.

1st Lt. Humphreys served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Reconnaissance Pilot and died in England from injuries received in an airplane accident.
