Peterson, Iowa – Aviation Cadet Byron Joy Reed, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Reed, has completed his elementary flight training at Curtis field, Brady, Texas and has been advanced to the basic pilot school at Garden City army airfield, Garden City, Kansas. Cadet Reed graduated from Peterson High School in 1937 and engaged in farming before entering the air force.

Howard Grover Roberts was born Aug. 11, 1918 to Grover Roy and Mary Christine Jessen Roberts. He died Nov. 25, 1945 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and has a cenotaph in Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly, IA.
Petty Officer Roberts served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Asheville (PG-21) and was MIA/FOD/KIA when that ship was presumed to be lost in enemy action in the vicinity of Java. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

Leo Fedrick AKA F. Leo Rohrbach was born July 21, 1913 to Phillip and Florence B. Bintner Rohrbach. He died Feb. 25, 1943 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, England and in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque, IA.
Petty Officer Rohrbach served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and was MIA in the North Atlantic.
