Reinhard Albrecht Alter was born May 4, 1919 to Ernest F. and Flora Kalkwarf Alter. He died Feb. 7, 1943 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, East Coast Memorial, New York, NY.
Pvt. Alter served in World War II with the U.S. Army Ordnance Dept. and was MIA/FOD/KIA and was awarded the Purple Heart. He died as the result of enemy action in the North Atlantic Ocean.
