Jay R. Laird, Jr. was born Apr. 4, 1920 to Jay R. (Sr.) and Alice B. Rowe Laird. He died Feb. 28, 1942 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Petty Officer Laird served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Houston (CA-30) when that was sunk in the Battle of Sunda Strait. He was MIA/FOD/KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.

Howard Lowell Ludwig was born Dec. 16, 1914 to Chris and Maude Good Ludwig. He died Aug. 23, 1948 and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Independence, IA. Howard served with the U.S. Army in World War II.
