Melvin Thanlow Orstad was born Nov. 28, 1910 to Thanlow and Mary Orstad. He died Oct. 10, 1944 and is buried in Epinal American Cemetery, Dinoze, France and memorialized in Strand Cemetery, Corning, IA.
Pvt. Orstad served in World War II with the U.S. Army 30th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division and was awarded the Purple Heart.
