Thomas A. Jamieson, 4503 Third Avenue and Marven E. Koehler, 1317 S. Cleveland Avenue, have enlisted in the Marine Corps. Both will report at San Diego for preliminary training.

Henry A. Ness, radio technician second class, 3107 Jay Avenue, has been honorably discharged from the Navy after serving more than three years, 18 months of which were in the Pacific theater. He is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hans Ness.

Flight Officer Ted Grier and Alfred Grier have been honorably discharged from the service and have arrived home for a visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Grier, 1619 West Street. Ted Grier served two years as flight officer with the army air corps ferrying command over Alaska, and was stationed at Great Falls, Mont. Alfred Grier served two years with the air corps and was stationed at Greenville, S.C.

S. Sgt. William G Padmore, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Padmore, 715 28th Street, has returned to the United States by air transport command plane via the army air base at Miami, Florida.

CPL Myron R. Christensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Christensen, 1508 S. Maple Street, has been honorably discharged from the army at Santa Ana, California. CPL. Christensen is a veteran of 45 months in the army air forces, having served in Brazil and Hawaii as an auto mechanic. He wears the American defense and the Pacific ribbons.

PFC. Howard E. Ream, son of Mrs. M. Ream, 2529 First Street, was honorably discharged from the army at Baer Field, Fort Wayne, Ind. For the last 33 months PFC. Ream has been a band leader and musician at Bergstrom Field, Austin, Texas; Pope Field, Fort Braggs, N.C. and Stout Field, Indianapolis, Ind., headquarters I, troop carrier command.

Lt. LeRoy H. Rowse, 1312 28th Street, has been discharged from the service after completing 37 months at the Waco army Air Field, Waco, Texas. Lt. Rowse taught navigation and weather and for the last year has been information and education officer at the field. He intends to return to Central High School as an instructor at the start of the next semester. His wife had been residing in Texas with him.

Maj. Franklin K. Carney, a former Sioux Cityan is visiting his grandmother, Mrs. Laura Carney, 2820 Jones Street. Maj. Carney returned recently from overseas duty, having served with the Eighth air force in England, Italy and Russia. He expects to be relieved from active duty.
