14 – Sarah Jo Ehler Johnson died on Thursday, July 14, 2011, in Mill Valley, California, at the home of her daughter, Grace Kraarjvanger. Sarah was surrounded by family at her passing. For the past seven years Sarah has fought cancer.
21 – Lorri Irene Waters, 52, of Owatonna died July 21, 2011, in Dodge Co., Minn., from injuries sustained in an accident.
23 – Dale Elmer Braun, 69, of Emporia, Kansas, died Saturday, July 23, 2011, at his home in Emporia, Kansas, following a courageous battle with cancer.

4 – James Alan Brosdahl, age 72, of Lake Mills, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2011. He was surrounded by his loving family at home, as he peacefully returned to his maker after a 16 year battle with cancer.

6 – Petty Officer Jon T. Tumilson, 35, a native of Rockford, died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, while conducting special operations combat in Afghanistan. He was born July 1, 1976 at Osage, Iowa.

12 – Randy Edward Whelan, age 55, of Alden, Minn., died Monday, September 12, 2011, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
13 – Paul LeRoy Thompson, 85 years of age, passed away peacefully Sept. 12 while under the care of Santa Fe House, Granite Mountain Hospice since June 1, 2011; before this he resided with his wife, Wanda, in Prescott, Ariz.
15 – Betty Jane Bratrud, 87, Mason City, formerly of the Kensett area, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at the Good Shephard Health Center in Mason City.
15 – Vivian J. Carberry, 86, died Sept. 15, 2011, at Live Oaks Nursing Home, Shreveport, LA.
27 – Clyde E. Black, 91, of Tuscon, Ariz., formerly of Northwood, died in the Casa de la Luz Hospice Facility in Tucson, Ariz. On September 27, 2011. Clyde lived his last days surrounded by his three loving daughters.

10 – Dolores Marie Kruse, passes away quietly on Oct. 10, 2011, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, of a sudden illness. She was 83 years old and a member of Elk Creek Lutheran Church, rural Kensett, Iowa.

23 – Jon R. Swenson, 75, lifelong educator and former Stillwater High School principal died on December 23. He left a legacy of excellence and dedication to quality education.
29 – Arlene L. Adams passed away on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2011, at the Hospice of the Valley Center in Mesa, Arizona, where she has been hospitalized following a brief illness.
