Anderson & Klein listed: leather 16" boots—$3.50; work shirts —49¢ ; sweaters—98¢; ladies gloves—49¢; hose—15¢ ; and pumps—$2.49. Etteldorf offered: Phoenix; hosiery—$1. Interstate Power suggested a toaster at $2.94.

The county relief office advised the public that any person, who operates a motor vehicle for purposes other than transportation to work, will be dropped from the roll.

Local milk dealers—Arnold Timp, Wolfes & Fosaaen, Andrew Barthelme and Frank Schmitz—announced that prices for delivered milk would be raised to ten cents a quart-.

Louis Dvorak and Glen Oyloe were the successful candidates in the school board election. The present members are: H. P. Nicholson, E. H. Brown, Nanfred Sand, Oyloe and Dvorak. George Lansing is secretary and Herman Schulze, treas.

The new board has offered contracts for the coming school year to the following teachers: L. J. Radtke, superintendent; E. L. Johnson, principal; Helen Maxwell and Edith Sykes, high school; Loretto McGary, third room; Janice Weithorn, intermediate and Irene Haltmeyer, primary.

The graduating class of 1935 included: Leona Winn, Ralph Cornell, Helen Dvorak, Irene Hanson, Ole Hendrickson, Marie Hendrickson, Norman Larson, Mildred Mundt, Rodney Nicholson Jr. and Charlotte Witt.

The students finishing at De Sales were: Dorothy Beer, Lucille Bodensteiner, Isabelle Collins, Hilaria Hanken, Bertha Schroeder, Viola Wiltgen and Josephia Wiltgen.

A home talent play, "Who wouldn't be Crazy", directed by Mrs. Dolores Lansing and Miss Elisabeth Cornell, was presented at the opera house. This entertainment was for the benefit of the Community Church.

The operetta, Hansel and Gretel, with a cast of 93 pupils from De Sales, was on stage at the hall. The lead roles were played by Gillis Flaherty, Barbara Zweibohmer, Esther Uhlenhake, Bobby Holder and Philomena Gerleman.

A meeting of the commercial club was considerably enlivened by a four round boxing exhibition between Jerry and Bob Oyloe. The brothers really mixed it up. While the ladies present expressed concern with the ferocity of the fighting, the men applauded their aggressiveness.

Federal and county officers raided two Ossian taverns and an egg house. A quantity of hard liquor was seized at each location. The council refused to renew the beer licenses of Archie Bernatz and Hiller Holien.

T. F. Schmitz was appointed the new postmaster. Thearon Hauge will retain his position as assistant.

The Commercial Club sponsored a free street entertainment for the public.
