Linden Township cemetery is probably the first organized cemetery in the western half of Winnebago county. It is located along county road R-24, three miles south, one mile west and one mile south of Thompson. Although fenced, and officially in the care of township trustees, the cemetery is not maintained. The cemetery was originally established because there were no churches in the area. After the organization of Lutheran congregations and of the town of Thompson, use of the cemetery was discontinued.
