Anderson, Ernest M -

Word has been received from Phyllis Anderson Stevens, Riverside, California of the death of her father, Ernest M.

Anderson on Saturday, April 25. Mr. Anderson was a member of the Lenox High School graduating class of 1926.

Graveside services were held at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California Tuesday, April 28.

Mrs. Stevens also reports that her mother, Ira Caldwell Anderson, is a resident in a

retirement home in California.

Bivens, Charles Francis -

Charles Francis Bivens, son of Charles and Helen Bivens, was born July 18, 1923 in Lenox. He died suddenly at his home in

Omaha. Nebraska Friday, June 19, 1981 at the age of 57 years.

He was untied in marriage with Betty Wright Borgeson October 9, 1955.

Charles graduated from Lenox High School in 1941. He also served in the Air Force from 1942 to 1945.

Preceding him in death were his father and two infant brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, two daughters, Patty, and Barbara and husband, Jim McVay; his mother. Helen

Bivens of the Clearview Nursing Home in Clearfield; two sisters, Mrs. Russel (Dorothy) Dukes and husband of Lenox, and Mrs.

Ernest (Mildred) McGraw of Meadow Bridge, West Virginia; a grandson. Nicholas, many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services were held Tuesday, June 23, 1981 at the Crosby-Kunold-Burket Funeral Chapel in Omaha Nebraska. Dr. David

Van Arsdale officiated.

Interment was at the Hillcrest Cemetery. A Memorial was given in the Wheeler Presbyterian Church.

Bush, LaVerne A -

LaVerne A. Bush of 502 North Division Street, Creston, Iowa died Monday, May 25 at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des

Moines at eighty-six years of age. He was born August 10, 1894 at Prescott, Iowa the son of Albert Norton and Lura Rachel

Casey Bush.

Mr. Bush was a lifetime resident of Adams and Union counties in Iowa. He was a retired farmer. LaVerne was a member of the

Prescott Masonic Lodge for more than sixty years and was also a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, the Odd

Fellows Lodge and the United Methodist Church in Creston.

He was united in marriage with Bernice Butler on May 20, 1918 at Greenfield, Iowa. She preceded him in death February

16, 1925.

On January 29, 1940. he was united in married to Mattie VanDonselar at Creston, Iowa.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and his wife, Bernice.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie; two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Merle) Reese of Sun City, Arizona and Alberta Young of Atlantic, Iowa.

Services were held Thursday, May 28 at 1:30 p.m. at the Keating-Lindsay Funeral Home in Creston with Reverend

Timothy Hohl of the United Methodist Church officiating.

Mrs. Doris Symonds was the organist. Selections were "In The Garden" and "The Lord's Prayer".

Casket bearers were Eldon Abbott, Clair Dory, Ed Merritt, Glenn Mickey, Elvin Riley, and Robert E. Shouse. Honorary casket

bearer was Paul Riepe.

Interment was in the Stringtown Cemetery at Stringtown, Iowa.

A memorial has been established to the United Methodist Church in Creston.

Frame, Zelda Irene Monk -

Zelda Irene Frame, daughter of Wesley and Grace Monk Frame, was born October 20, 1907 in Ringgold County, Iowa.

She died Saturday, May 16 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines at the age of seventy three years, six months and

twenty-six days.

She lived most of her life in the Clearfield area. On July 29, 1925, she was united in marriage with Floyd Frame at

Bedford, Iowa.

Mrs. Frame was a member of the United Methodist Church and the U.M.C. circle in Clearfield and also belonged to

two neighborhood clubs.

Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother Claude Monk.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd; three sons, Floyd, Jr. and wife, Gloria of Fort Collins, Colorado, their children,

Ronald, Donald and Melody, Marvin and wife, Martha of Las Vegas, Nevada, their children, Lee Ann, Dave, Randy, and

Mitch and Dean, his wife, Deanna of Ankeny, Iowa their children, Lauri, Mike, Wayne, and Kyle; two daughters,

Donna Hancock and husband Harold of rural Bedford their children, Debbie, Dan, Denny, Doyle, and Darin and Janice

Rogers and husband Ronald of rural Corning, and children, Brian and Rachelle; five great grandchildren, as well as other

relatives.

Services were held Tuesday, May 19 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Clearfield, Iowa with Pastor Kevin

Hoffman officiating.

Music was provided by Patty Parrish, organist and Marilyn Beck and Billie Jean Barker, vocalists.

Casket bearers were Louis Votava, Myron Smith, Alva Jones, J. E. Ecklin, Raymond Taylor, and Jack Gourley.

Interment was in the West Fairview Cemetery at Lenox, Iowa.

Varner-Watson Funeral Home of Clearfield was in charge of arrangements.

Freshour, Delmar O -

Delmar 0. Freshour, son of Charles E. and Emma (Hayes) Freshour, was born June 26, 1913 in Adams County, Iowa.

He died at Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa Saturday, June 20, 1981 at the age of 67.

He was united in marriage with Mildred Harris December 20, 1932 at Corning, Iowa.

Delmar was a retired mechanic and has been employed by Miller Chevrolet in Corning for a number of years. He lived his

entire life in Adams and Taylor counties and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Corning.

Preceding him in death were his parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred; two sons, Clifford and Jerry, both of Prescott; a daughter, JoAnn Canfield of

Norfolk, Nebraska; a sister, Mrs. Roy (Reva) Martin of Lenox; ten grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, June 22, 1981 at 10:30 a.m. at the Goodwin-Lindsay Funeral Home in Coming, Iowa.

Reverend Lowell Dickinson, pastor of the Corning First Baptist Church officiated.

Music was provided by Joyce Bayles, organist and John Narigon, soloist. Selections were "What A Friend We Have

In Jesus" and "Each Step I Take".

Casket bearers were Larry Miller, Glen Miller, Doug Sickler, Leo Evans, Tom Phillips, and Larry Hamblin.

Interment was in the Brooks Cemetery at Brooks. Iowa.

Hughes, Olive E (Ollie) Butler Jones -

Olive E. "Ollie" Hughes, the daughter of John C. and Anna K. Butler, was born January 20, 1889 in Union County, Iowa. She

died at the Lenox Care Center Friday, May 22 at the age of ninety-two years, four months and two days.

She was united in marriage with Thomas Jones. A son, Eldon Paul, who preceded her in death, was born to this union.

In 1921, Ollie was united in marriage with Anson R. Hughes.

She will be remembered as a loving mother, wife and grandmother. Her sense of humor, and witty personality will be

missed by her family, relatives and friends. During her early years of service to people and to the church, she touched many

lives.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Anson; her parents, a son. Eldon; a granddaughter, Jeanette Jones Phillips; four

brothers, Clarence, Charley, Harry, and Howard Butler; and two sisters, Edith Hewitt and Mabel Wilson.

Survivors include two daughters, Twila Wray and husband William of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Charlene Shaffer and

husband Gilbert of Clearfield; a daughter-in-law, Eva Jones of Lenox, three sisters, Carrie Dahlberg; Nellie Peterson and

Mary Jane Jones; five grandchildren, John E. "Jack" Jones and wife, Jerry; Daniel Wray and wife Nancy: Karla Lyddon

and husband John. Teresa Umerger and husband Bradley, and Jill Johnston and husband David; sixteen great grandchildren,

Gail, Lee Ann and Lynn Marie Phillips, Kathy Bissell, Tim, Jackie and Jody Jones, Christopher and Amanda Wray, Colin Cooper,

Kelly Lyddon, Jacob, Sarah and Abbie Umberger and Patricia and Thomas Johnston; and three great great grandchildren,

Jason, Jennifer, and Justin Bissell.

Services were held Tuesday, May 26 at 2 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Lenox with Reverend Don Fisher

officiating.

Music was by Roberta Lockhart, organist and Carol Ann Kinder, vocalist. Selections were "The Old Rugged Cross" and

"In The Garden".

Casket bearers were Ray Hewitt, Randall Wilson, Orville Williams, Bob Reynolds, Lowell Bush, and Mack Pershin.

Interment was in the West Fairview Cemetery at Lenox, Iowa.

Larson-Bender Funeral Home in Lenox was in charge of arrangements.

Hughes, Wilma Pearl Cavner -

Wilma Pearl Hughes, the daughter of William Henry and Bertha Hurst Cavner, was born January 12, 1898 in Page

County, Iowa. She had a twin brother; Earl. Pearl died Saturday, June 6 at the Bedford Manor in Bedford, Iowa, at the

age of eighty-three years, four months, and twenty-four days.

As a young girl, she moved with her family to a farm in Taylor County.

She was united in marriage with Glen Milo Hughes on February 23, 1921 at Bedford. They made their home on farms

near Conway until 1966 when they moved to Lenox.

Pearl will be remembered as a mother with overflowing love for her family. She was called "Grandma" by all youngsters.

Preceding her in death were her husband on January 29, 1975, her parents, four sisters, Effic Barker, Mary Jeffers, and

Leona and Florence Cavner; five brothers, Roy, Cyle and Earl, and Alonzo and John in infancy; and a grandson, Joseph Kirby,

who also died in infancy.

Survivors include her children, Darlene Ernest and husband, Willis, Dorothy Kirby and husband, Virgil, Glen I. Hughes and

wife, Wilma, all of Bedford, and Luetta Kinman and husband, Orlan of Omaha; a sister, Mable Robey of Bedford; a sister-

in-law, Marie, (Mrs. Cyle) Cavner of Gardena, California; an aunt, Myrtle Faye; ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren,

Joyce, Robert, Randy, and Troy Hoepker of Creston, Cleota, Art, Renee, and Neal Tapken of Orient, Jolene, David, Davy, and Andrea Kendrick of Douglasville, Georgia; Fran and Bill Dougherty of Bedford, Marlene, Bob. Tim, and Joe Anderl of Redlands, California, Rodney, Teresa, Michelle, Laura and Mellissa Kinman of Omaha, Sandra, Ronald, Rachel, and Regan Williams of Council Bluffs, Bonny, Jerry, Daniel, and Kristi Baker, Tony and Lori Hughes, and David Hughes, all of Bedford; as well as other relatives.

Services were held Tuesday, June 9 at 1:30 p.m. at the Larkin-Bender Funeral Home in Lenox, Iowa with Carl Cummings

officiating.

Music was provided by Norma Paymal, organist, and Marilyn Beck and Candy Brown, vocalists. Selections were "In The Garden" and "Ivory Palaces".

Casket bearers were Bill Barrans, Lonnie Barker, Duane Book, Doyle DeVoe, Bill O'Dell, and George Reynolds.

Interment was in the Conway Cemetery at Conway, Iowa.

Porter, Anna Mae Clayton Cochran -

Anna Mae Porter, youngest daughter of Wilbur and Eliza Burns Clayton, was born near Berwicle, Illinois November 20,

1892. She died at her home in Clearfield Tuesday, May 26 at the age of eighty-eight years, six months and six days.

As a young girl, she moved with her family to a farm north of Clearfield. She attended the Clearfield Public School.

Anna was united in marriage with Homer W. Cochran on March 4. 1914. He preceded her in death in December of

1927. At that time Anna and daughter, Helen, moved into Clearfield where she was employed by the Clearfield

Telephone Exchange.

On March 2, 1931, she was united in marriage with Ralph W. Porter. They lived on a farm southwest of Clearfield until

Mr. Porter died in December of 1970. Anna then moved into Clearfield where she spent her remaining years. She was a

member of the United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters, two brothers, and her husbands.

Survivors include two daughters, Helen McMath and husband Dwight and LeAnn Baker and husband Carroll; six

grandchildren, Paul Roger Whitmore and wife, Maxine of Stuart, Iowa, Ann Driskell and husband Dave of Creston,

Barbara Scott and husband Fred of Sharpsburg, Craig Baker and wife Markeeta of Clearfield, Sherri Doggett and husband

Dennis of Seymour. Iowa, and Sheila McMath of Clearfield; twelve great grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as

other relatives.

Services were held Thursday, May 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the Clearfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Kevin

Hoffman officiating. Music was by Mrs. John Parrish, organist and Darl Bell, vocalist.

Casket bearers were Craig Baker, Dennis Doggett, Paul Whitmore, Dave Driskill, Fred Scott, and Randall Nickle.

Interment was in the Clearfield Cemetery at Clearfield, Iowa.

Reed, Earl Edward -

Earl Edward Reed, son of John Wiley and Mina Elizabeth Vinn Reed, was born March 27, 1912 in Adams County, Iowa.

He died at Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa Tuesday, June 16, 1981 at the age of sixty nine years, two months and nineteen

days.

He was united in marriage with Clara Paulline Paul August 14, 1940 at Corning, Iowa.

"Jersey" as he was called by many of his friends, was a life-long resident of Corning and Adams County. As a youth he

worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps and in the National Guard. In the early 1940's he stripped blue-grass across the

midwest. Later he operated a corn sheller in Adams and surrounding counties. Earl spent many years hauling rock

from the Corning quarry and in the winter months he built wagons and picnic tables, many of which are still in use around

the country.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a daughter, JoAnn, a son Sam, two grandchildren, three brothers, Tom, Wally, and

Claude; and two sisters Alice and Agnes.

Survivors include his wife, Clara of Corning; two sons, Earl Jr. and wife Wauneta of Corning, and David and wife Cindy of Omaha; two daughters, Lorraine Young and husband Volley of Nodaway and Martha Tice and husband Stanley of Carter Lake, Iowa; four brothers,

Ray and Wendell of Corning, John of Eugene, Oregon and Eugene of McCoggin, Minnesota; two sisters, Clara Bailiff of Corning and

Helen Barker of Clearfield; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Services were held Friday, June 19 1981 at 1:30 p.m. at the Larkin-Roland Funeral Home in Corning, Iowa. Reverend Lowell Dickinson,

pastor of the Corning First Baptist Church officiated.

Music was by Erma Fuller, organist and Carolyn Engel, soloist. Selections were "Amazing Grace" and "In The Garden".

Casket bearers were George McLean, Wayne Smith, Eldon Lowther, Vern Walter, Kenneth D. Smart and Bob Mack.

Interment was in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Corning, Iowa.

Schaffer, Orville Printice -

Orville Printice Schaffer, son of William F. and Alta Nash Schaffer, was born February 5, 1911 in Adams County, Iowa.

He died at his home in Corning, Iowa Tuesday, May 12 at the age of seventy years, three months and seven days.

He was united in marriage with Inez Mae Gardner November 25, 1936 in Crawford County, Kansas.

Orville was employed by Adams County for fifteen years and had served as caretaker for the Fairview Cemeteries in

Lenox, Iowa for the last seventeen years. He will be remembered as a good husband, friend and neighbor. Many of the

neighborhood children affectionately called him "Grandpa".

Orville took pride in his work as was evident by the beauty of the Lenox Cemeteries during his years as caretaker.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Deryl and LaVerne.

Survivors include his wife, Inez of Corning; three brothers, Kenneth and wife, Nina of Lenox, Harry of Richmond,

California and Leo of Creston; two sisters, Alemda Eggleston and husband, Al of Corning and Velda Hardisty and husband,

Ernest of Kent; two sisters-in-law, Ila Schaffer of Creston and Lottie Schaffer of Corning, two brothers-in-law, Melvin Gardner

and wife, Lila, and Merl Gardner and wife, Grace, all of Kansas City, Kansas, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews,

and other relatives.

Services were held Friday, May 15 at 10:30 a.m. at the Larkin-Roland Funeral Home in Corning. Iowa. Reverend Clarence Lautt,

pastor of the Corning United Methodist Church officiated.

Music was by Karen Schaffer, organist and selections were "Beyond The Sunset" and "The Old Rugged Cross".

Casket bearers were Pete McMorran, Carroll Mercer, Larry Fudge, Sam Armstrong, Kenneth Means, and Jerry Barton.

Interment was in the East Fairview Cemetery at Lenox, Iowa.

Shaffer, Clyde M -

Clyde M. Shaffer, the son of John D. and Myrtle Ethington Shaffer, was born January 25, 1918 at Lenox, Iowa. He died

Thursday, April 16 at the Boulder Community Hospital in Boulder, Colorado at sixty-three years of age.

He was united in marriage with Erma Young of Lenox on August 26, 1940. They made their home in Clearfield, Iowa

prior to moving to Boulder in 1963 where they resided at 730 Thirty-sixth Street.

Clyde was a veteran of World War ll. He was a member of the  American Legion Post in Clearfield and served as Taylor

County Commander of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Erma; two sons, Larry and Gary Shaffer of Boulder; a daughter, Jean Ann (Mrs. Gary) Damiana

of Louisville, Colorado; eight grandchildren, three brothers, Donovan of Longmont, Colorado, Delbert of Boulder and

Gilbert of Clearfield, Iowa; three sisters, Fern Spurrier of Clearfield, Margaret Henderson of Lenox and Opal McMichael of

Grimes. Iowa.

Services were held Tuesday, April 21 at the Clearfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Kevin Hoffman officiating.

Interment was in the Clearfield Cemetery.

Shiffer, Frances Marie Pontow Bradley -

Frances Marie Bradley Shiffer, the daughter of Frank and Marie Strey Pontow, was born July 7, 1890 in Creston. She

died unexpectantly at her home in Kent, Iowa on Sunday, April 19 at ninety years of age.

She was united in marriage with J. Hubert Bradley in Creston in 1908. He preceded her in death October 7, 1916.

Frances was united in marriage with Ward Sniffer in 1920. He died January 7, 1951.

A lifetime resident of Union County, Mrs. Shiffer was a housekeeper for the sick and elderly until her retirement. She

was a member of the Holy Spirit Parish and Altar Society in Creston.

Preceding her in death besides her two husbands were a son, the Reverend Bede James Bradley, Order of St. Benedict,

on January 7, 1971, six brothers, two sisters, and one great grandchild. Survivors include three sons, Dennis Bradley of

Afton, Lyman Bradley and Hubert Bradley, Sr. both of Kent, their wives, twenty-six grandchildren, and fifty-four great

grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday, April 22 at St. Malachy's Worship Center in Creston with the Reverend Father Arthur

McCann officiating. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Raymond Bradley, Norbert Bradley, James Bradley, Phillip Bradley,

Harry Bradley, and Thomas Bradley.

Honorary pallbearers were Herman Weisshaar, Max Paxson, Henry Roach, Howard Mickey, Urban Baker, Raymond

Brown, Ernest Marckman, Fred Sturzenegger, and Edmund Baker.

Interment was in the Calvary Cemetery at Corning.

Symonds, Florence Elizabeth Alma Ray -

Florence Elizabeth Alma Ray Symonds, the daughter of Wilburn and Louella Sellers Ray, was born March 27, 1906

on a farm six miles south of Lenox. Iowa. She died at the Lenox Care Center Thursday, April 23 at the age of

seventy-five years and twenty six days.

She was united in marriage with Ernest William Symonds of Kent, Iowa on May 12, 1926. Following their marriage. Florence

and Ernest farmed near the Kent and Clearfield communities and then south of Lenox. In later years, they farmed in the

Cromwell area until retiring and moving to Lenox where they made their home for four years.

Florence had been a resident of the Care Center for ten years, moving there following her husband's death on February

26, 1971.

Florence will be warmly remembered by her family for her love of the home as shown in her flowers, garden and housework.

Her interest also extended to her friends and neighbors. Florence was known for her handiwork, making beautiful pillows

and crocheted butterflies. She will be missed by her family who have cared for her in her last years.

Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, two brothers, Forrest and Harold Ray; a sister, Pluma Ray: and a

granddaughter, Connie Kay Baker.

Survivors include two daughters, Darlene Rich and husband, Morris of Atkins, and Dorothy Baker and husband, Gerald of

Clearfield: two sons, Dean and wife, Marilyn of Waterloo, Iowa and Tom of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren, David

Allen Miller, Debra Miller, Vicki Miller, Barbara Koob, Karen Symonds, and Jerry and John Baker: two great grandchildren,

Nathan and Alan Miller: four sisters-in-law, Carrie Ray of Adair, Sylvia Cairns of Fallon, Nevada, Mae Case of Brighton,

Colorado, and Iola Steele of Knoxville; and two brothers-in-law, Everett Symonds of Lenox and Raymond Symonds of Hopeville.

Services were held Sunday, April 26 at 1:30 p.m. at the Larkin-Bender Funeral Home in Lenox. Reverend William C. Trembly

of the United Methodist Church officiated.

Music was provided by Norma Paymal, organist, and Billie Jean Barker and Marilyn Beck, vocalists. Selections were

"In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art".

Casket bearers were Glen Norton, Jeff Koob, Jerry Baker, John Baker, Jack Hulett, and John Beaman.

Interment was in the West Fairview Cemetery at Lenox.

Wurster, Rose Marie Schaffer -

Rose Marie Wurster, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Eberle Schaffer, was born on a farm near Prescott, Iowa on

September 15, 1895. She died at the Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa Saturday, May 23 at the age of eighty-five years,

eight months and eight days.

She was united in marriage with Harry Wurster March 8, 1916 at the home of her parents. The couple moved to his farm

northeast of Lenox. Following the death of Harry  on October 9, 1931, Rose continued to farm with the help of hired men

and friends and neighbors until her sons were old enough in do the farming.

Rose was a member of the Prairie Star Church until its closing. She then joined the United Presbyterian Church in

Lenox and attended when able.

Preceding her in death were her husband, a son. Howard, who was killed in an airplane accident during World War II on

June 27, 1944 at the age of twenty-three, a grandchild in infancy and her daughter, Pearl Goldner Haley on July 26, 1974.

Survivors include a son, Harvev of Lenox, four grandchildren, Marvin Goldner, his wife Kathy and children, Jerry, Dan and

Chreal of Chesterfield, Missouri, Homer Goldner, his wife Shirley and their children, Kim and Kyle of Eugene, Missouri,

Evelyn, her husband Larry of Freemont, California, and Joe Goldner, of Graham, Missouri, and a sister-in-law, Elsie Schaffer

of Creston, Iowa.

Services were held Wednesday, May 27 at 11 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Lenox with Reverend Don Fisher

officiating. Music was by Roberta Lockhart, organist and Gwen Maynes, soloist. Selections were "Whispering Hope" and

"What A Friend We Have In Jesus".

Casket bearers were Haldene Campbell, Jim Hewitt, Marvin Reed, Robert Rhoades, Robert Lockhart, and George Wurster.

Interment was in the West Fairview Cemetery at Lenox, Iowa.

Larkin Bender Funeral Home in Lenox were in charge of arrangements.

Young, Duane Allen -

Duane Allen Young, son of Lyle Duane Young and Mary Ann Hettinger Flickinger, was born July 3, 1963 at Greenfield,

Iowa. He died at San Diego, California Monday, June 29, 1981 at the age of seventeen years, eleven months and

eleven days.

Allen attended early school years in Lenox and later attended school at Creston, Mt. Ayr, Des Moines, and Knoxville.

The last year was spent at the Y.M.C.A. Boys Home in Johnson, Iowa, where he received his G.E.D. A memorial

has been established in his name for the Home. He enjoyed the outdoors and sports and was especially fond of swimming

and waterskiing. Allen like people and demanded more of himself than was expected. He will be remembered for his love

of small children.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Frank and Mary Anny Flickinger, Chariton; his father, Duane Young,

Lenox; his grandparents, John and Ruth Hettinger of Mesa, Arizona and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Young, Winterset; two

sisters, Tammie Temple and husband Kevin, Des Moines and Lori Ann Young, Chariton; two step-brothers, Jim and Jon

Flickinger; a step-sister, Kaye Flickinger; a nephew, Randy Temple; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and

friends.

Services were held Saturday, July 4, 1981 at 10 a.m. at the Salem Church of the Brethren in Lenox, Iowa, Reverend Elmer

West officiating. Music was by Erma Fuller.

Military Rites were performed by the Lenox American Legion Parkinson Post #250.

Casket bearers were S.R. Steven Varner, HM1 Patrick Hall, HM1 Michael Winkler, YN2 David Trumball, YN3 Kevin Sanders,

SK2 Swain Baker, and L Cdr. Wm. Copus.

Interment was in the Salem Church Cemetery at Lenox, Iowa.
