PROMINENT MAN TAKEN
FROM OUR MIDST UNEXPECTED
PASSED AWAY SATURDAY
ABOUT 10:30 A. M. AT HIS HOME
WAS 62 YEARS OLD
One of Bedford's
Outstanding Financial Business Men for Forty-five Years
An
unexpected and heartfelt loss to the Community occurred Saturday morning, when Chas.
V.[erne] Dinges, one of Bedford's
most outstanding financial businessmen passed away after an illness of about
one week with pneumonia.
The general public was
not aware of the fact that Mr. Dinges was even sick. He had always been a stout, robust fellow, active in
his business affairs and never complained. That is one reason his death brought
about such a shock to the community and county. Mr. Dinges had so many friends, and faithful ones, together
with his honest career, that it is useless to hardly speak about it further.

INVESTMENT COMPANY TO
BE DISCONTINUED
After the death of C.
[harles] V. [erne] Dinges, and on
Monday of this week, J. S. Nevius was appointed as Receiver for the Investment
Company, which has been operated in Bedford by Crum & Dinges. This was a
private concern engaged in the abstract and loan business. The action was
necessary to close up and settle the business of the firm, on account of the
death of Mr. Dinges, who was a
member of the firm. The Bedford National Bank is entirely separate from Crum
& Dinges and was not connected with the Investment Company and has no
interest in it.
