Marion Newton Fulwider was born in Cedar County, Iowa, July 25, 1864, and departed this life early Monday morning, April 9, 1928, at his home south of Blockton, aged 63 years, 8 months and 14 days.

With the exception of but a few years Mr. Fulwider spent his entire life on the home farm.

He was united in marriage to Miss [Susan] Eldora Ridge Feb. 6, 1889, at the home of the bride in Worth County, Missouri. To this union four children were born —Addie Alfie, Clara Goldie, Chloris Eldora, and Elmy.

He is survived by his wife, three children—Mrs. Alvin King, Mrs. Earl Wintermute, and Mrs. Myron [Clark] Faubion; one sister—Mrs. Ben Severns, of Hamilton, Montana, and five grandchildren —Paul Gene and Geraldine King, Kenneth and Kathleen Wintermute and Russell Faubion.

Mr. Fulwider was preceded in death by his son, Elmy, who died in infancy; his mother who died Oct. 9, 1915; his father who departed this life June 6, 1916, and

his sister, Mrs. Addie Burrell, of Hamilton, Montana, who died in August, 1926.

Mr. Fulwider, while still a young man, heard and obeyed the call of his Lord and Savior and was buried with Him in baptism in the fall of 1888. Since that time he has continually walked with Him. He was interested in the progress of the kingdom of God and gave willingly of his time and earthly wealth that the work of the Master might grow. The church that he served so long and faithfully will miss him and his strong spirit very much and sorrow deeply because of his death.

He was known and loved dearly by a large group in this community who extend sympathy to his sorrowing family. He was kind to everyone, especially to little children of whom he was unusually fond.

Words cannot tell of his love and devotion for his wife and children.  He worked hard and long to provide a comfortable home for them. Those who were nearest to him feel that his place can never be filled.

Funeral services were held at the Blockton Christian church Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock, conducted by Rev. C. Max Buck. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery.
