James, Eva, & Cliff Templeton

In the Taylor County, Iowa History of 1981 on page 402, Imogene Templeton Osborn wrote about her grandfather, James Templeton, who came from Port Williams, Scotland as a stable boy to the United States in 1880. He came with Percheron horses, one of which was delivered to the Jabez Fitch farm 5 miles west of Bedford.

The Fitch family immediately liked Jim and he decided to make Taylor County his home. He married Eva Barton in March 1896. His friendship with the Fitch family continued through the years and May Fitch O'Dell had this photo of him in her personal family photo album.

Jim and Eva's second son was Roy Templeton . Imogene, in the same article mentioned above, stated that her uncle, Roy Templeton, moved to Portland, Oregon in 1935.
