ALUMNI DINNER IN DES MOINES
In connection with the Iowa State Teacher’s Association meeting held in Des Moines last week, a dinner was arranged for former students of Western Union college at the Grace Ransom Tea Rooms Friday evening.  A short program of visiting and getting acquainted and a talk by President D. O. Kime on the progress of the building program on the campus was enjoyed by the thirty people who attended the dinner. Those present were President and Mrs. D. O. Kime, Dr. B. F. Zuehl, Dorothy Banker, Joyce Bowers, Gale Bleasdell, Mr. and Mrs. Kynett Haehlen, Kermit Hancer, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Farley, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Fischer, Ruth Hahn, Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Hahn, Bertha Henning, Eileen Henry, Julia Henning, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Holzapfel, Charles Johnson, Dorothy and Lawrence Kurth, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Lexa, Emily Mayne, Lela Mead, Ross Pauli, Bertha Tallman.

FRESHMAN WEEK ANNOUNCED
The officers of the Freshman Class have chosen the first week in the month of December as the annual freshman week.  The class will conduct assembly programs and edit the Gleam as a freshman issue and will have one all class social evening. The five commissioners of the class who are conducting the events and who act as the officers are LeRoy Kerney, Norman Knosp, Helen Spong, Shirley Bledsoe and Bernice Henning.

NEW GYMNASIUM SOON IN USE
With the football season closed, Coach Crayne is working with the basketball men who will play a heavy schedule of eighteen games this season. The old gymnasium will be used until the new floor is ready.  About half of the new floor is laid and in several weeks should be ready for class use and basketball practice.
