Spanish Flu |
Although there are as yet but a few cases of the dreaded disease here the board thought it their duty to take these precautionary measures. In doing this they have the backing and support of practically the whole community. They have acted wisely and justly and should efforce their order in all cases.
We print herewith a copy of the notice given to the public:
At a meeting of the Board of Health of the Town of Paullina, Ia., a resolution was passed forbidding all public gatherings, and that all churches, schools, pool halls, picture show, lodges and all other public gatherings, including public funerals, be discontinued until further notice; that all homes infected with the disease of Spanish or Epidemic influenza be quarantined and all the members of such families must remain on the premises until the quarantine is raised.
You are therefore directed to comply with this ruling and all patriotic citizens will kindly assist in the enforcement so that all precautions may be taken to avoid the spreading of this fatal disease.
Dated at Paullina this 14th day of October, 1918, by order of the Board of Health of the Town of Paullina.
H.G. Gulp, Mayor
