"Can't find any physician that has got anytime to make any
remarks"
Remarks: Crapp drank in one day 5 pts of whiskey - this closed up the circulation through the liver into the heart and the water in the blood thrust itself through the ducts into the upper bowels and filled the body up till breath was impossible - charge it up to whiskey & breach from the text - "God makes mad whom he would [illegible]" Typhoid Fever was nearly spotted fever in its nature and appearance & Some physicians called it "Spotted fever". Some Typhoid & Red Spots both before and after death. All the Typhoid last winter was of a very malignant type. See Mortality report for "Stacyville Tp" [remainder of page cut off] |
Transcriber notes: The remarks were at
the bottom of the page. They appear to have been written
by the enumerator due to his inability to find a
physician to comment. The image was cut off at the
bottom, where there may be additional information. Scrofula is a swelling of the lymph nodes in the neck caused by a bacterial infection, usually tuberculosis. (source: various, found by a Google search) |
